She Reads Truth Bible Review

Happy Thursday, friends!

In my last post, I mentioned my brand new Bible from She Reads Truth, and today, I want to show you an overview of this Bible. I’ve only had it for about 4 weeks, but I’ve already reaped so much from it and I hope this post will answer any questions you have about this Bible. If you’re interested in purchasing it, I hope this convinces you to do so! 😉

5 ways to dig deeper into (5).png

My favorite features in this Bible:
  • Devotionals woven through each book of the Bible

I haven’t (obviously) read all the devotionals in this Bible, but the ones I have read are solid, easy to understand, and really encouraging. I especially love them because they coincide with various chapters.

  • Key verses and artwork

At the beginning of each book of the Bible is a hand-lettered verse. This adds a pop of color and beauty to the Bible. 🙂

  • Journaling space

I’ve been wanting a journaling Bible for a while now, but I didn’t want to spend $50.00 for only a journaling Bible. The She Reads Truth Bible has so many great study features as well as journaling space, so it’s well worth the price. (And guess what? It’s under $50.00! More about that later.)

  • Reading plans

One of my goals for 2018 was to read through the book of Psalms, and this Bible has been a PERFECT asset to my study. Each book of the Bible has a reading plan with it, providing cross-references for each passage you read. I seriously can’t tell you how many times “Wow, wow, WOW!” has burst out of my mouth during my reading lately. Ha! Seriously, the reading plans are phenomenal. I’ve never made so many connections or understood the big picture of the Bible so well before. I love seeing the unity of God’s Word unfold before me. 🙂

Other features:
  • Maps
  • Charts
  • Introductions/background to each book
  • Timelines
  • Concordance
  • Color-coded books (organized by genre)

Each book is color-coded by genre, which is super cool. Here’s a preview:

I honestly didn’t find many downsides to this Bible, but here are a few things you may want to know…

  • Thin pages

The pages are just like regular Bible pages, which I was a little surprised about. For some reason I expected them to be a little thicker. This isn’t a problem though, just as long as you’re careful. Since it’s a larger Bible, more care must be taken to flip through it.

  • Devotionals are fine-print

I haven’t had trouble reading the devotionals, but the print is small and a little light. However, the Bible text is easy on the eyes.

  • Only available in one translation

I was a tad skeptical about trying the She Reads Truth Bible just because it’s only in one translation that I’ve never used before. However, I did some research on it and asked my dad about the translation (CSB), and he said it’s pretty literal and reliable (he studied translations in seminary and continues to compare different versions now). Overall, I really like the Christian Standard Bible, and I’ve found it to be very similar to the ESV, and pretty close to the NKJV as well (the translations I normally use).

This Bible ranges from $25-40.00, which, in my opinion, is a GREAT deal, and totally worth every penny! It’s available in a few different colors and materials, and you can find it on several online stores. (Amazon, LifeWay, Barnes & Noble, and CBD to name a few).

I purchased mine from Christian Book Distributors for about $27.00 (including shipping). I highly recommend this store because it’s so reasonable, and they have a ton of materials to offer at a small cost! I signed up for email notifications from them and got regular updates about the price-drops for the She Reads Truth Bible. Only a couple weeks after signing up, the Bible was on sale for $19.99! CBD runs awesome deals on the norm, so if you’re ever looking for a Bible sale, they gotcha covered. 😉

That’s about it!

This Bible is so inviting and I seriously look forward to opening it up every day. It’s a beautiful study tool that I’ll treasure for a long, long time.

So, is your curiosity peaked yet? I hope so! I hope this post was helpful to you. If you want any more information on this Bible, just hop over to this website!

Have a beautiful weekend. 🙂
